there's a moose...

...at the top.

we'll get to that in a moment;

first-up is a re-cap of the week that was.

more wedding bands... (actually managed to work enough to cover two months of rent, yay!?)

successful applications to both IA 891 and ACFC west (now officially on permittee status.)

hiking up at deep cove

saturday hike to "the chief" (a week earlier than I'd originally thought)

canucks smash boston in the first two games of the stanley cup finals... (*more on that in a bit too)

photos

first up is a shot of deep-cove (I've mentioned it before - an awesome little bay less than 15min from my home, which has a nifty 20min hike/run up to a rock that looks back on the cove) you can just make out the rock on the left-hand side of the photo above all the boats in the distance.

group shot of the hikers...

now fast-forward 6 days, and we're heading up to squamish for an early-mid-morning hike up the chief.

view from 2/3rds up the 1st peak.

almost at the top - time for some photo-posing

some random people enjoying a snack

say cheese... and hang your legs over the edge please!

hero-lifting by a stranger over on peak 2

pretty-view of the inlet

looking back to the SE (sea to sky highway)

hmmmm, there's something a little different about this landscape, whatever could it be?

Squirrel!!!!!!!
(very-tame, and amazingly fast)

Weekly WTF = aforementioned moose... during the upward hike, every person we passed (who was on the way down), was telling us to "look out for the moose at the top" are they joking? could there actually be "a moose" at the top of the 2nd largest granite rock in the world???

turns out it was just some healthy PR for the BC parks and wildlife service (photo-opportunities = yay!) poor little jerry, having to lug the suit up there...

self-portrait at the top

heading down...

now; on to the canucks.

after winning the first two games (if not by a large margin, certainly through a bit of old-school dominance of play) - they CRUMBLED in game 3 to lose 8-1, and in game 4 losing 4-0...

the town is almost inconsolable... and nervously awaiting game 5 at home tomorrow night.

Go Nucks GO!?!?!?
