Burning down the house - 28th June 2007 - Bowen, QLD

Safety supervisor watches on as part of our "Darwin" set burns...

It was literally our last day in Bowen on the set of 'Australia', and being the 'war' part of filming, they had a controlled burn.

Coming at the end of a long night shoot - the sky was actually quite light by 6:30 am 

My point and shoot camera did all the work, as I quickly stopped to take a shot amongst our last major equipment move.

During a day-trip to Stradbroke with Mark - while hanging on the beach taking photos, I was lucky enough to capture this dynamic interaction

Interestingly the photo information is no where near the correct date...  Might have been early 2010...

My 2010 trip to activate a Canadian work-visa also involved a nice little stop at Sun Peaks resort for a bit of skiing.

Captured with a Panasonic Lx-3 (35 equiv 24mm) at f4, for 1/800 sec ISO 80 with some HDR post processing to try to even out the drastic differences between the sky and the inside of the plane.

2nd Unit "Australia" - 19th August 2007 - Cockburn Ranges, Western Australia  


As a part of the 2nd Unit mixing duties, I spent a couple of weeks in the El Questro park - looking at the cockburn ranges every day.

So one day - I hiked up the side to capture a surround recording for the post team - It was a heck of a difficult hike (and looking back, not one that I should have undertaken solo) but the results were worth it.
